Fall River Police Lt. Jay Huard reports that three males are being sought in connection with an armed robbery and shooting last night on Harrison Street. The robbery involved a city taxi driver.
According to police reports, the cab driver was called to 260 Harrison Street about 9 p.m. One male passenger got into the taxi and distracted the driver by asking for change of a hundred dollar bill, while a second male approached the cab with a gun and demanded money. After handing over what cash he had, the driver jumped out of the cab and chased the males when they fired three rounds at him. The driver escaped unharmed. Police recovered three 9 mm shell casings from the scene.
