The construction of the former Harbor Mall property began this week, with workers starting to clear away concrete and dig up pavement. The CEA Realty Group bought the thirty acre site this year, and is gearing up to build the new so called SouthCoast Marketplace, that will contain a dozen retail stores and service businesses, plus restaurants and a movie theater.
To date, the property is fenced off, except for the west side where there is a Santander Bank and a Staples store. Both businesses are currently open and can be accessed from William S. Canning Blvd.
Currently, the only tenant will be Market Basket, set to open in the summer of 2017, but CEA Realty is confident it will be able to attract future businesses to the site.
More information will be available on the story as details come up.
