A jury found Daniel Tavares of Fall River Guilty of First Degree Murder Tuesday, December 1st after deliberating for 12 hours.
Tavares was charged with killing a neighbor, Gayle Botelho, a mother of three, back in 1988. Botelho was believed to be a missing persons, until the remains of her body were discovered in the backyard of Tavare’s old residence at 314 June Street.
Tavares has yet to be sentenced for the crime.
