I believe this is a beautiful tribute to all Vietnam Veterans. I lost my husband a couple of years ago. He did not find out until almost 45 years after the war that his illness was service connected due to agent orange.
My husband had his first heart attack at the age of 42 and bypass at the age of 49 and many more surgeries over the years. We lived with his conditions on our own with no help from anyone. After going to a 40th reunion with the 107th
Signal, other members of the signal told him he should go to the VA in Providence.
After a lot of visits, paperwork and forms he finally received help.
I only wish that I would have been able to enjoy my retirement with my husband and not alone. My best friend of 40 years is no longer and it saddens me. I recently met up with the VVA Chapter 207th from Westport, Ma and was told that I could request a brick for my husband, which I definitely would like to do.
Thank you for the time to write down my thoughts.
