ghostfbThe annual Great Holy Ghost Feast in Fall River kicks off tonight at Kennedy Park off South Main Street.

According to feast organizers, a large crowd is expected to participate in the festivities, beginning with the blessing of the food (Pensoes) at 7:00 pm.; food which will be distributed to the needy. This act will be presided by D. Teodoro de Faria, Bishop Emeritus of Funchal, Madeira, Portugal, and other dignitaries that plan to attend.

The celebration will continue thereafter with with the inauguration of an Arts and Crafts fair, complete with local and Azorean based artisans. Local musicians will also be on hand to perform live all evening.

The Feast will continue all week, ending on Sunday.
