There are many reasons to join a Fall River Girl Scout troop, according to co-leaders Darlene Couture and Liz Clayton. Kindergarten girls through high school seniors are welcome to join a troop to learn how to become productive citizens through community and service project learning; to get introduced to the skills necessary to live as independent young women, and to have the chance to gain self respect and confidence. Couture explains why she volunteers her time as co-leader of Troop 1076:
