Good news for travelers in Southeastern Massachusetts who plan to drive withina fifty mile radius this Labor Day holiday.
According Mary Maguire, Director of Public Relations and Legislative Affairs for Triple A, drivers will enjoy the lowest gas prices since 2005.
“People who are traveling in their vehicles can expect to see gasoline prices $1.10 lower on average at $2.35 per gallon, as compared to ten years ago when the average price was at $3.44,” she says.
Ms. Maguire adds that just last year approximately 35 million people traveled during the long Labor Day weekend, and that number is expected to rise by 500 thousand people, or nearly a one in half percent increase.
