The Fall River Police Department’s auxiliary police division has begun its annual recruitment of volunteer officers. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2019.

Auxiliary officers’ duties range from traffic control and providing direction at parades to crime prevention, security at community events, and assistance during emergencies.

To be eligible, volunteers must be U.S. citizens age 18 to 65, available on weekends, and able to serve a minimum of four hours a week, among other requirements.  Additional eligibility criteria can be found here:
