“Shakespeare in the Park” returns to Fall River Historical Society this weekend as Boston-based Striving Artists Theatre Company (SAC) performs Hamlet on the Society grounds at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, and Sunday, July 29. Admission is free.
Directed by Fall River native Greg Luzitano, SAC’s artistic director, the performances are funded in part by a grant from the Fall River Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
Striving Artists has brought free outdoor Shakespeare productions to Massachusetts parks and historic sites since 2010 and aims to “delight Shakespeare fans young and old, while introducing his work to new audiences through an emphasis on accessibility, exuberance, connecting with the audience, and fun,” according to the SAC website.
Fall River Historical Society is located at 451 Rock Street. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic and lawn chairs or a blanket. For more information, call 508-679-1071.
