(FALL RIVER, MA – February 18, 2022) – The Fall River Arts & Culture Coalition (FRACC) and the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) have joined together to present a virtual workshop that will benefit individual artists, craftspeople, and creatives. As part of the Viva Arts and Culture Plan, this offering aims to provide professional development opportunities for the cultural sector.

MCC’s Program Officer of Artist Fellowships, Dan Blask, will present a step-by-step review of their grant program. This workshop will help you prepare an application with the highest potential for success. The session will also provide you with tips on how to present written and budget information in a way that clearly articulates your story to any grant jury.

This free workshop will be held via Zoom on Saturday, March 12th, at 9 AM. Pre-registration is required. Visit vivafallriver.com/event to sign up. All are welcome to enroll; there is no FRACC membership prerequisite.

About the presenter: Dan Blask coordinates programs for individual artists at the MCC, including grants for filmmakers, composers, and writers of fiction, nonfiction, dramatic writing, and poetry. He also writes for ArtSake, MCC’s blog, about new art and the creative process. Dan received his MA in Creative Writing (Playwriting) from Boston University.

FRACC’s membership is comprised of nearly 100 committed individuals, including artists, craftspeople, and creatives, as well as representatives from a wide variety of organizations and civic groups who recognize and believe in the power of arts and culture to bolster local economies and spur revitalization. There is no fee to join, and monthly meetings, which are open to all, are held on the 2nd Monday of each month at 5 PM at rotating member locations.
