Former Fall River City Councilor Dan Rego today secured nomination papers to run for mayor in the March 12th recall election.
Mr. Rego was elected to the city council in 2011, serving two terms, losing his re-election bid in 2015.
Mr. Rego is the seventh resident to indicate interest in running in the election, joining Mayor Jasiel Correia, School Committeeman Paul Coogan, former city councilor and school committeeman Kyle Riley, and residents Luis Cabral, Aaron Ferreira, and Ronald Gagnon.
Candidates have until January 17th at 5:00 pm to take out nomination papers and until January 22nd at 5:00 pm to return them for certification to the Elections Office.
