Food Truck Event Series Returning to Fall River

FALL RIVER, MA – The Office of Mayor Paul Coogan is pleased to announce that the City of Fall River will be partnering with local organization PVD Food Truck Events to bring the second annual Fall River Food Trucks at the Gates event series to Fall River’s waterfront. The events will be held on the first Thursdays of the summer months- June 1st, July 6th and August 3rd. Each event will begin at 5pm and conclude at sunset (approximately 8:30pm).

Fall River Food Trucks at the Gates is a free event series featuring a rotating selection of over a dozen food trucks, live music, and beer and wine supplied by Fall River vendors Troy City Brewery and Primo Catering. A portion of Ponta Delgada Boulevard and Water Street will be closed to provide more space for the event, which centers around Fall River’s iconic Gates of the City. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the food and music on the grassy area surrounding the Gates.

“Last year’s Food Trucks at the Gates series drew thousands of people to Fall River’s waterfront, and we are so excited to bring these popular events back to the community,” said Mayor Paul Coogan. “It’s a great chance for families and residents of all ages to get outside and enjoy a summer night in a beautiful Fall River location. We are grateful to PVD Food Truck Events for their continued partnership, and look forward to another busy summer at the Gates!”

In 2022, Fall River Food Trucks at the Gates became PVD Food Truck Events’ first full summer event series in Massachusetts. Since 2015, the group, led by organizer Eric Weiner, has planned food truck events in communities across Rhode Island, often drawing crowds of over a thousand guests.

“Food trucks have a unique way of bringing people together, creating a vibrant atmosphere where delicious food, live music, and community converge,” said Eric Weiner, Founder of PVD Food Truck Events. “Fall River Food Trucks at the Gates embodies the spirit of celebration, inviting families and residents of all ages to savor the flavors of summer nights in the beautiful backdrop of Fall River. We are thrilled to partner with the City of Fall River and Mayor Paul Coogan to make these events a highlight of the community’s calendar. Let’s create memories and build connections one tasty bite at a time.”

A Facebook event series has been created for this year’s Fall River Food Trucks at the Gates. Residents can follow the event page for more information including parking details, updates on each night’s food truck roster, musical performances and more: https://fb.me/e/11uPBV8wd

Residents and event attendees should consider alternate routes on the night of each event due to increased traffic and the impact of construction work on Route 79 along Fall River’s waterfront. Event parking will be available behind the Anawan Street mills and can be accessed through Water Street.
