The Flint Neighborhood Association will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at the Mary Fonseca Elementary School, 160 Wall Street, Fall River.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., and include the monthly report by the Fall River Police Department and updates on the Father Travassos Park & Playground and the Harvest Fair. Of particular importance will be a discussion on the future of the Coughlin School, which suffered a fire on Saturday, August 22nd.
We urge all former students, teachers and administrators from the school to attend this very important discussion and offer whatever input you deem appropriate. The Flint Neighborhood Association had sought to purchase the Coughlin School with the intention of converting it into a Community Center, but were unable to do so. The Coughlin School was often cited as the best of the 15 or so schools that were for sale at a time the city was building a host of new schools. For more information about the meeting, please contact Carlos Cesar, President of the Flint Neighborhood Association, at 774-526-2221.
