Fall River Fire Fighters extinguished a blaze that destroyed a garage behind 631 King Phillip Street on Thursday, June 26th, 2018. Fire officials responded to the scene after receiving calls that came in beginning at 11:00 p.m.
Reportedly, one person was in the garage at the time the fire started. The person told officials he was working on a motorcycle when gasoline spilled. He got out of the building by himself.
The fire was contained and did not affect any nearby neighboring houses which were about three to four feet away, thanks to the work of the fire fighters at the scene. One of those houses was occupied and people were evacuated. Meanwhile…one firefighter suffered heat exhaustion, was taken by rescue, treated and released. No other injuries were reported.
