Fall River Street Tree Planting Program (FRSTPP)’s third annual Family Fun Tree Day will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, at Heritage State Park.
FRSTPP provides sustainable tree planting for the Fall River community, advocates for tree maintenance, and works to educate the public about trees. The Tree Day event will give children an opportunity to learn how to identify trees, insects, and mushrooms; how bees make honey; and how to compost with worms.
Activities will include a tree walk, fairy houses, and knot making, and Rhode Island Audubon Society will present an educational program about birds of prey.
Children will receive a customizable keepsake to take home, and snacks and water will be provided. There is no charge for admission.
