It has been about a year since ground was broken for construction of a replica Vietnam War Memorial Wall at Bicentennial Park. The monument is set for installation this summer.
After collecting more than $1.4 million dollars for the project, the local Vietnam War Memorial committee has hired a construction crew to begin the task of assembling the tiles of the 80% replica of the wall located in Washington DC. Chairman Joseph Marshall says despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the monument will be complete late summer/early fall. Originally the target date for completion was Veterans Day.
The monument in Fall River will not only be of interest to local veterans and others but will be an attraction regionally.
