Director of the Fall River Career Center Joe Viana is touting the decrease in state unemployment rates, while urging job seekers to get out their resumes and cover letters since prospective employers are looking to hire help now more than in recent memory.
While job offers won’t come in an instant, Viana says the economy is on the upswing, which state officials verify by stating that state unemployment figures are at their lowest point since June 2001.
In a casual interview today with FRC Media News, Viana says that the Amazon Fulfillment Center is making a massive effort to hire another 500 employees and expect more jobs to open up this spring.
“I can see an upswing in the number of people in our area being offered jobs, as long as they are persistent.” Viana says. “In addition, the career center offers job training and resume and writing workshops. Just call (508) 730-5000 for more information.”
