A 39 year old Fall River woman will be sentenced next month after a jury found her guilty of a single charge of involuntary manslaughter.
Adrienne Brown will serve time behind bars for stabbing Brian Jones to death almost two years ago outside her Third Street residence. Brown had initially been charged with First Degree murder, but a jury recently found her guilty of the lesser included charge of voluntary manslaughter. This verdict could lead Brown to serve between eight to twenty years in state prison, depending on the scope of her criminal record. The sentencing date is scheduled for March third in superior court.
The stabbing occurred over a monetary dispute between Brown’s 19 year old daughter and the 53 year old victim. During an argument between the two, Brown got involved and stabbed Jones three times. He died as a result of the injuries he sustained.
