The Fall River Police Department Emergency Services Unit took 1st Place in the EoTech Dynamic Entry Challenge, and 8th place overall at the 2016 Connecticut SWAT Challenge.
Thirty-six SWAT teams and Military Units, including the Army Rangers, competed in this year’s event, and Warwick Police Department, RI was the overall winner.
FRPD Officers Jason Fournier and Shane Galus competed in and won the EoTech Dynamic Entry Challenge. This was a two-man room clearing mission with the use of Nightvision optics.
The Connecticut SWAT Challenge is one of the best tactical operator training events, and the 2nd largest SWAT competition in the United States. It tests and pushes each team to its limit in a grueling 7 events which culminates in the final Team PT Challenge.
In addition to competing in the SWAT Challenge, our Fall River officers received Tactical Emergency Casualty Care training from a former Navy SEAL Medic, and tactical training from a retired Army Ranger & Delta operator.
