The 2018 Fall River Grand Prix is expected to draw thousands of spectators to the waterfront in late August as the Offshore Powerboat Association brings its popular races to the city for the third year in a row.
The race boats will arrive at Borden Light Marina at 1 Ferry St. on Friday, August 24, and visitors will be able to view them up close and meet crews and captains the following day. The “Race Village” at the marina opens at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, and will feature entertainment and local vendors.
Races are scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 26, at noon, 2:00 p.m., and 3:45 p.m., subject to adjustment. Additional activities tentatively include a boat parade, street party, and fireworks on Friday.
