School Vacation Week Happenings at Fall River Public Library

During the week of April 19-April 23, 2021, the Fall River Public Library has a boatload of fun for kids, from visits with SpongeBob and other characters to pirate games and crafts!

This year, April vacation is also Under the Sea Week, with something special planned for every day. On Tuesday, April 20, kids can meet SpongeBob and Patrick on the library’s front lawn! The two hilarious denizens of Bikini Bottom will be available to greet fans and pose for pictures from 11 a.m. – 12 noon. They will also be handing out crafts for kids to take home.

On Wednesday, April 21, it’s Talk Like a Pirate Day at the library! Kids (and parents too) are encouraged to visit the library dressed in pirate garb. There, they can get a sack of pirate booty, walk the plank, pick up a list of pirate jokes and riddles, take home a mysterious piece of coral with a surprise hidden inside, and pose for pictures. Please make an appointment to visit the children’s room between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. by calling 508-324-2700, ext. 4. Masks are required for library visits, and families are encouraged to practice social distancing.

On Thursday, April 22, kids can meet Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, Too at 11 a.m. on the library’s front lawn! The two beloved storybook characters will be available to meet kids and pose for pictures and give out crafts until 12 noon.

Finally, on Friday, April 23, children can meet that lovable mystery-solving dog, Scooby-Doo! Scooby will be available between 11 a.m. and noon to meet fans, hand out crafts, and pose for pictures.

Outdoor events will happen, rain or shine. Families are reminded to wear masks and practice safe social distancing during meet-and-greet events.

Please note that on Monday, April 19, the library is closed for Veteran’s Day.
