A Fall River woman has been arrested for assaulting a restaurant employee in Taunton Sunday night after allegedly being the victim of an assault herself.
Forty year old Jennifer Pacheco of 803 King Philips Street was arrested and charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon and malicious destruction of property over $250 dollars after she threw a computer monitor at an employee at Big Wong Restaurant in Taunton. According to police, the incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on February 5th.
Officers were dispatched to the Taunton restaurant to investigate a disturbance. They located Pacheco nearby, and described her as being heavily intoxicated. Pacheco explained that she was outside the Atlantic Cafe having a cigarette when she was approached by a male and female asking for change. She refused, after which the man allegedly hit her over the head with a beer bottle before walking away into the Big Wong restaurant nearby. Pacheco, apparently uninjured, followed the couple inside after which she claimed a restaurant employee assaulted her and refused to call 911. Pacheco then threw the computer monitor at the employee before she was thrown out of the restaurant.
Surveillance video did not correlate with Pacheco’s story. An investigation continues.
