A major snow storm is on its way to the region, with latest reports calling for up to 18″ of the white stuff possibly accumulating by the time it ends. The snow is expected to begin early Tuesday morning – March 14th – with heavy winds and blizzard-like conditions.

Department of Community Maintenance Director John Perry is gearing up today to make sure snow removal is fast and efficient, beginning with clearing roads that lead to hospitals and medical centers. He also reminds residents that if they are out shoveling not to throw the snow that accumulates in driveways back onto the street, although he understands residents frustrations with plows re-blocking driveways as the crews clear streets:
