The name of the victim in a double stabbing incident at a residence on Linden Street in Fall River earlier this week has been released. According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office, the victim was 36 year old Kristina Reis, who authorities say was the live-in girlfriend of 26 year old Scott Rego.
Rego was arrested at Rhode Island Hospital where he was being treated for an injury he suffered during the double stabbing incident on Monday night. He is charged with murder.
Police were called to the 17 Linden Street residence on Monday night where first responders found the victim on the third floor tenement porch bleeding from a stab wound. She was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Meanwhile, Rego was found suffering from a wound to his chest, taken to St. Anne’s Hospital and then transported to Rhode Island Hospital.
Rego is expected to arraigned on the murder charges this week. FRC Media News will have more details as they become available.
