A Fall River man is expected to arraigned in Fall River Superior Court this morning, October 25th, on charges in connection with a murder last summer.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, 16 year old Jayden Smith was arrested on murder charges just before midnight last night. Smith was wanted in connection with the homocide of Jerrod Cohen on July 11th. A Bristol County Grand Jury had indicted Smith last month on charges of murder, carrying an illegal firearm, and possession of a loaded illegal firearm.

Smith had been wanted by authorities since shortly after the shooting death of Cohen outside the victim’s home at 129 Plain Street in Fall River. He was ranked number one on the Fall River Police Department’s Most Wanted List, and had recently been added to the Massachusetts State Police Most Wanted List.

Assistant District Attorney Brian Griffin is expected to handle today’s arraignment.
