When the polls closed at 8:00 p.m. on September 12th – the day of the preliminary election in Fall River – Incumbent Mayor Jasiel Correia II won the top spot over four other opponents with City Council Vice President Linda Perreira coming in second place. Pereira pulled in 36.87 percent of the votes, with Correia garnering 45.76 percentage points. While voter turnout was a low 18% percent, Mayor Correia was pleased to be the top vote getter:
