“Not Guilty.”

That was the plea entered this afternoon on behalf of Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia who was arrested today on federal charges he defrauded business investors of hundreds of thousands of dollars before he took office in 2016. The thirteen count indictment focused on allegations he was involved in wire fraud and filing false tax returns in connection with his now defunct “Sno Owl” business.

“I love Fall River and I’m going back to my office tonight…” he said following his not guilty plea, adding”I did nothing wrong.”

Mayor Correia plans to address his arrest with media representatives later this afternoon during a press conference. FRC Media News will have updated information as it becomes available.
