Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia was arrested today on federal charges that the U.S. Attorney General’s Office in Massachusetts alleges stems from Correia defrauding investors of hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Reportedly Correia, who was arrested at his home today,  used the funds to live what prosecutors are calling a “lavish” lifestyle, and to fund his political career.

Correia took office as mayor when he was 24 years old back in 2016, and was touted as the youngest mayor to hold that office in the city. U.S. Attorney in Massachusetts Andrew Lelling will hold a press conference this morning in Boston. FRC Media News will have updates as they become available.
