26 year old Fall River resident Christopher Stiles was handed down a 30 to 45 year state prison sentence this afternoon, December 28th, for charges stemming from a vicious attack on a 65 year old woman in April of 2013.

The case was prosecuted by District Attorney Thomas Quinn before Judge William Sullivan in Fall River Superior Court. Among the charges Stiles pleaded guilty to were three counts of aggravated rape, three counts of Assault & Battery on a person over sixty resulting in serious bodily harm, and various other Assault & Battery charges.

The victim was in the courtroom, and explained in painful detail the physical and emotional affects she suffers in the aftermath of the brutal attack which, among other symptoms include, severe headaches, partial loss of her right hand, and a broken jaw.

Stiles forced himself into the victim’s apartment, and immediately began the vicious assault. Although he threatened to kill the woman, he eventually stopped the rape and beating, took her car keys, and stole the vehicle.

After hearing both prosecution and defense arguments, Judge Sullivan agreed with DA Quinn that the maximum sentence should be handed down to the defendant. After serving his time, Stiles will be placed on a ten year probationary period that includes GPS monitoring, and registering as a sex offender.
