A 39 year old Fall River man was sentenced to serve three to five years in state prison on charges in connection with the brutal beating of his girlfriend on New Year’s Day this year.
Jason Brum pleased guilty to counts of aggravated assault and battery, and assault and battery. According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office, Brum and his girlfriend were walking back to their apartment after a New Year’s Eve event. When they arrived at the door, Brum threw her to the ground and stopped on her head and face. She was able to scream for help. A neighbor came with a baseball bat and stopped the attack before police arrived. The victim was treated at Rhode Island for her injuries.
