A Fall River man, arraigned in Second District court on drug-dealing charges this week, is expected back in court at the end of this month.
Police arrested 38 year old Nelson Carreiro of 4980 North Main Street earlier this week, and charged him with possession to distribute a Class A drug. The police department’s Vice and Intelligence Unit executed search warrants for the suspect’s vehicle and residence and confiscated 296 bags of suspected heroin and $880 dollars in cash.
The heroin was later found to be laced with fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid, according to court documents. Carreiro is scheduled to return to court on May 30th.
