Middle school students with the writing bug can hone their skills at writing workshops hosted by the Fall River Public Library.
From the Fall River Public Library
On Tuesday, June 22 & Tuesday, June 29, 2021, Fall River Public Library will hold a series of two in-person creative writing workshops for kids ages 10-14. The workshops will run from 6pm-7pm. Both programs are free. Register online at fallriverlibrary.org.
This group is open to writers of all skill levels and styles who love creating worlds with their words. We will talk about what makes a good story, introduce writing terms and elements, and learn how to apply them to our own writing. We will also create short works based on writing prompts and share our creative thoughts with one another, as well as discuss how to provide respectful criticism and why it is important for becoming a better writer.
Kids are welcome to attend one or both workshops. We hope that you can join us and we look forward to learning and writing with you! The group will be co-led by our librarians and Stephanie Farland, a creative writing student intern.
The workshops will be held in the library’s new outdoor story tent. Participants who are not yet fully vaccinated should plan to wear masks. For more information, please contact the library at 508-324-2700, ext. 110 or ext. 4.
