Fall River Public Library Adds Online Card Option
During this time of social distancing, Fall River Public Library is reaching out to patrons with remote services, including eBooks, audiobooks, and streaming music. But what if you don’t have a library card, or your card is expired? Now you can apply for a temporary e-card and use it to access library books, magazines, comics, streaming videos, and learning resources.
To apply for a library e-card, visit sailsinc.org/my-account/get-a-library-card. Choose either Fall River Main or Fall River South as your home library. You will get a confirmation email with a card number you can use to access thousands of titles available online. You will have access to eBooks, audio, and video from the SAILS library network, as well as the option to borrow items from other networks.
With an e-card, you will have access to:
· Overdrive—downloadable content including eBooks, audiobooks, and more. Choose a checkout time of 7, 14, or 21 days.
· Hoopla—eBooks, audiobooks, music, and graphic novels, always available with no waitlist (limit of 7 free downloads per month).
· Research Databases—great for students and anyone working from home, this collection includes online access to reference books, magazines, and newspapers.
The library is currently closed through May 4, 2020. No items should be returned at this time. If you have any items already checked out, hang on to them. Due dates will be automatically extended and no fines will be charged. Although the library is closed, our virtual resources are available 24/7. Online content is continually being added. Visit https://fallriverlibrary.org for links to Hoopla, Overdrive, and other free resources. Also, follow @FallRiverLibrary on Facebook for updates.
