Beginning next week the Fall River Public Libary will be extending hours into the evening at its downtown and south end branches.

Fall River Public Library Adds Evening Hours

Starting Tuesday, September 20, the Fall River Public Library, 104 North Main Street, will be open until 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Monday, Thursday, and Friday hours will remain 9-5. The South Branch Library, Arch Street, will be open for their normal Wednesday hours, 11 am – 7 pm.

As we have been doing since reopening, we are limiting the number of people in the building at a time. We are offering appointments for half-hour visits to browse new books, check out materials, and use computers. Computer use, faxing, printing, and copying will also be available. Per city and state regulations, face coverings must be worn to enter the library. Hand sanitizer is also available.

For those who prefer contactless pickup, we are still offering curbside takeout as a convenient service. Patrons can reserve items ahead by going online or calling the library, then schedule a time to pick them up at the door.

Library appointments (30 minutes, 1 person each) can be made by calling the library during normal hours: 9-5 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays or 9-7 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. To schedule an appointment for a library visit or curbside pickup, call the Main Library at 508-324-2700, ext. 2, or the South Branch, 508-324-2708.

The extended hours will offer more chances for working people and families with kids in school to visit the library and take advantage of its resources.
