The Fall River Public Library has events to celebrate Children’s Book Week this week.
From the Fall River Public Library
The Fall River Public Library will observe Children’s Book Week, May 5 – 10, with two special events for children and their families. On Wednesday, May 7 there will be a bookmark craft at 4:00 p.m. in the Children’s Room and on Thursday, May 8 at 4:00 p.m. there will be a Guest Reader Day.
On Wednesday, May 7, children will be creating their own personalized bookmarks made from colorful foam and adorned with a variety of animal shapes and sparkling jewels. They can also
personalize them with their name or initials using stick-on letters. Children attending can also select a free book of their choice to take home and enjoy.
On Thursday, May 8 the library will celebrate Guest Reader Day featuring three special guests from the community. The Honorable Paul Coogan, Mayor of Fall River; Patti Rego, Executive Director of Viva Fall River; and Tony Medeiros, children’s entertainer extraordinaire, will all be sharing some wonderful stories from the library’s collection of picture books with young listeners. A craft and a short animated movie will also be presented.
