The Fall River Historical Society presents “A Rose by Any Other Name,” the first of three lectures in the Society’s 2016 Fall River History Lectures Series. Director Bob Kitchen shares the fascinating story of Rose Wentworth, a young lady born in Fall River in 1874 who joined the Barnum & Baily Circus at age 15, and went on to become one of the greatest circus equestriennes of all time. His presentation will include many period photos that illustrate Wentworth’s celebrated career.
The lecture series is sponsored by the Trustees of The Grimshaw-Gudewicz Foundation. It will take place at Bristol Community College at 777 Elsbree St.in Fall River in Room 111, Building C beginning at 7:00 p.m.
This is the first of three lecture series to take place this month. The event is free and open to the public.
