The city’s new police chief John Lynch was sworn into office during a ceremony Monday at Government Center. Family, friends, EMS employees, along with Mayor Correia and State Representative Alan Silvia, were among those in attendance.
Lynch served as deputy fire chief before being named provisional fire chief by Correia in June. This after former Fire Chief Robert Viveiros retired.
Last week, the city council unanimously approved Lynch’s three-year contract that pays about $150 thousand dollars annually.
