Dozens of people assembled at St. Michael’s Church in the north end to celebrate the annual Blue Mass, which recognizes the work of the Fall River’s first responders.
Pastor Father Fred Babiczuk used his homily to emphasize the important role public safety officials play within a community.
Representatives from he city’s neighborhood associations presented plaques to representatives of the city’s public safety departments, recognizing their work in battling the Gabriel House Assisted Living facility fire in July. While ten residents perished, first responders were able to save the lives of 60 residents.
