Police have released the identities of two men who died in an early Sunday morning motor vehicle crash on Route 24 in Fall River.
State police say 36 year old Joseph Burnham, and 23 year old Laurence Wheeler, of Providence, Rhode Island were pronounced dead after being taken to Charlton Memorial Hospital.
A 23 year old passenger in the car was transported to Rhode Island hospital and survived the accident.
An initial investigation indicates the 2003 Mercury was traveling northbound on Route 24 when the vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
