Fall River City Council Vice President Linda M. Pereira lost her bid for mayor in the November 7th Final Election. With the unofficial results counted shortly after polls closed at 8:00 p.m., Pereira pulled in 5,624 votes which means she won 38.45 percent of the votes. Mayor Jasiel F. Correia II garnered 8,914 votes or 61 percentage points, coming in first place. Early on in the race, Pereira made her concession speech, first thanking her family and campaign workers for all their hard work to get her elected to the top post:
