The Fall River City Council on Finance subcommittee will meet in regular session tonight beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Government Center. Members face a hefty agenda, including discussion between the Correia Administration and Corporation Counsel about the privatization of the trash removal contract, and the elimination of the Sanitation Enterprise Fund. Another topic of interest: Continuing talks about the third quarter budget report for Fiscal Year 2016 that includes amounts of Chapter 70 funding for school aid, Tax Liens, and costs involved with Fire and Emergency Services and Indirect Cost Recoveries of Enterprise Funds.
The Full Council will meet afterwards at 7:00 p.m. Again, a hefty agenda awaits councilors including a resolution by Councilor Ray Mitchell for the administration to reconsider its decision to privatize trash removal and discussion on the School Committee’s recommendations that reduced the School Department’s proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2017.
