A regular meeting of the Fall River City Council is scheduled for Tuesday, February 7th at Government Center. The Finance committee will meet first to discuss a resolution request update on the status of city-owned properties currently for sale. This issue was tabled on September 27th, 2016.
The full council meets immediately following, and items up for discussion include a mayoral veto of a $123 million dollar loan order for integrated Wastewater & Stormwater Master Plan Improvements. This issue is complicated, and for a complete background review, interested residents can access the mayor’s previous written correspondence to the city council which can be accessed through the Fall River Municipal website.
Another item up for discussion is a proposed ordinance to establish the position of Treasurer/Collector. In addition, Mayor Correia has also submitted an order to adopt chapter 467 of the Acts of 2008, which relates to the the retirement benefits for the city’s emergency medical technicians.
The Finance Committee will meet at the council chambers beginning at 6:30 p.m., again on Tuesday, February 7th, immediately followed by a meeting of the full city council around 7:00 p.m.
