Droves of Fall River residents came out to vote in the State Election yesterday despite the pouring rain. According to Board of Elections Chairwoman Kelly Souza-Young, 20,154 of the city’s 50,186 registered voters, or 40%, went to their perspective precincts to cast their ballots. Fall River voters followed the trend of the remainder of the Commonwealth in their view of the three state ballot initiatives.  Here are the unofficial Fall River numbers:

Question #1  (Patient to Nurse Ratio)
NO- 12,486 votes
YES- 5,926 votes

Question # 2 (Creation of a Citizens Commission to Revue Campaign Financing)
YES- 12,318 votes
NO- 6,148 votes

Question # 3 – (Transgender Rights)
YES- 11,133 votes
NO- 7,541 votes

Please Note: The Fall River figures are still unofficial. Kelly-Souza Young says she had ten days to add write-ins, and to certify the final numbers.
