As part of the Route 79/Braga Bridge Project, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation plans to start overnight single lane closures on Interstate 195 in both east and west directions.
The work to repair the median strips by the contractor in that area will begin each evening until Friday, June 24th beginning at 8:00 pm. The work is expected to be completed by 6:00 a.m. the following mornings.
In order to avoid delays, Motorists are being asked to seek alternate routes, and if they are unable to do so, they should reduce speed, and use caution. Drivers are reminded that state law allows traffic violation fines to be doubled in construction areas.
