Here are the events planned for next week at the Fall River Public Library.
From the Fall River Public Library
Here’s what’s going on at the library this week.
Take-home Children’s Craft: This week’s take-home craft is a rainbow lacing craft. Kids will have a blast creating their own rainbow by threading different colored string and plastic beads through the cardboard shape. Pick one up in the Children’s Room all week or while supplies last.
Blackout Poetry: Stop by the library anytime to create your own blackout poem for National Poetry Month. Blackout Poetry takes an existing text and blacks out words with a marker to create a poem from the words that are left. We invite adults, teens, and tweens to create unique poems, post them on Instagram using the hashtag #FRPLblackoutpoetry, and tag #fallriverpubliclibrary.
Preschool Storytime: Tuesday, April 11 at 11 am: children and families are invited to join us for stories, activities, and a craft.
NEW! Family Evening Storytime: Join us on Tuesday, April 11 at 6 pm for bedtime stories, designed for busy families who can’t fit the morning storytime into their schedule. Kids are welcome to come in their jammies and bring a favorite stuffed animal.
Play & Learn: Wednesday, April 12 from 10-11:30 am. Stories, songs, and activities recommended for children ages 5 and under.
Teen Magic the Gathering Club: Wednesday, April 12 from 5-7 pm. Weekly meetup for teens 12-18.
Driftwood Wind Chimes Craft: Wednesday, April 12 at 6 pm. This craft for adults, led by Stephanie Enloe of the Craftyish Shop, uses driftwood, shells, and other found objects to create unique wind chimes! Signup is required for this program; call 508-324-2700, ext. 2, to register or add yourself to the waiting list. Sponsored by the Friends of the Fall River Public Library.
BEAM Interactive Games for kids age 4 and up, on Thursday, April 13 at 4 pm.
The Friends of the Fall River Public Library are now able to accept donations of gently used books again. Wanted: Paperback and hardcover books in good condition. No encyclopedias or textbooks, please. We are in need of more mysteries! And if you love your library and would like to help, consider becoming a member of the Friends of the Library! Call the Friends Bookstore at 508-324-2700, ext. 122, with questions.
And just a reminder: the library will be closed Monday, April 17 for Patriots Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, April 18 with a full schedule of children’s programs for school vacation week. To view a full library event calendar, visit fallriverlibrary.org.
