Here are events sponsored by the Fall River Public Library that will take place beginning Monday, September 28.

From the Fall River Public Library

This Week at the Library – September 28-October 2

This week at the Fall River Public Library, kids can pick up a Fall Apple Tree Sign curbside craft kit to take home. This cute door hanger or room decoration shows an autumn apple picking scene and is easy for children to put together. To reserve your craft and arrange a time to pick it up, call the children’s room at the Main Library, 508-324-2700, ext. 4, or call the South Branch at 508-324-2708. This craft will be available on September 28-October 2.

The library will offer an online program for adults on Wednesday, September 30, when our Zen Zone returns with a guided meditation and book discussion. The event will take place on Facebook Live. To participate in this online group, visit facebook.com/FallRiverLibrary/ at 3 p.m., when the meeting will go live. Advance registration is not required.

Good news! After a long hiatus, the statewide Commonwealth Catalog (ComCat) is back! This means that you can once again order material from a wide network of public and academic libraries throughout Massachusetts for free delivery to your local library. If you’re looking for books or other media not available locally, click the ComCat link from the library’s web page, visit commonwealthcatalog.org, or call a reference librarian for help: 508-324-2700, ext. 3.

As a reminder, Fall River Public Library is now open for evening hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The Main Library is open by appointment until 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesdays, and the South Branch Library is open 11 am – 7 pm on Wednesdays. Call the Main Library at 508-324-2700 or the South Branch at 508-324-2708 to schedule your visit. Same-day appointments are usually available.
