Here’s what’s happening at Fall River Public Library the week of November 22.
Our Thanksgiving Book Giveaway, which started on November 18, continues through Wednesday, November 24 of this week. All children who visit the Children’s Room during regular library hours can select a book to take home. We have a variety of titles for different ages. Available while supplies last. Thank you to Debby and Richard Danner for their generous support of this program!
Please note our special holiday hours. We will close early at 5 pm on Wednesday, November 24; we will be closed for Thanksgiving and Black Friday (November 25-26); and we will be open again on Saturday, November 27 from 9-5.
The library shows free big-screen movies on Mondays at 1 pm and 6 pm. The movie for November 22 is Stillwater, starring Matt Damon (rated R).
Preschool Storytime is held Tuesday, November 23, at 11 am in the Meeting Room. Another preschool program, Play & Learn, sponsored by Fall River Schools, is held on Wednesday, November 24 at 10 am.
The Chess Club, for teens through adults, meets on Saturday, November 27 from 1 pm-3pm. Anyone is welcome to join us for a chess game! Other board games will also be available.
And just a reminder: our head of Children’s Services, David Mello, has an exhibition of his artwork at Narrows Center for the Arts from November 15 through January 15, 2022. If you have seen his incredible murals in the Children’s Room lobby, you will want to check out the full range of his work! There is a reception on Saturday, November 20 from 1-3 pm.
