You can view our complete interview with Michael Rodrigues on our special Election 2022 page.
Six-term State Senator Michael Rodrigues is seeking another term representing the First Bristol and Plymouth District based on his experience in support of his constituents and his leadership role on Beacon Hill.
In serving Fall River Senator Rodrigues points to his successes in providing more money to the city for education and being an advocate for SouthCoast Rail and the economic opportunities that will hopefully come with it. He is equally as proud, however, of being part of a legislature that avoids partisanship and works well with the governor.
Another one of Senator Rodrigues’s key accomplishments is finding money for Fall River to pay for public safety.
As he looks ahead to continuing to serve on Beacon Hill, Senator Rodrigues hopes to grow emerging energy technology and support higher education.
Senator Rodrigues has been Chair of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means for the last four years, a role that only is behind the Senate President in seniority. He says he hopes to return to that role, one that has benefitted his district and Fall River.
