As the result of a resolution submitted by Fall River City Council Vice President Pam Laliberte-Leabeau, the council’s subcommittee on Economic Development & Tourism will meet April 3rd, 2018.
Purpose: To discuss the state of economic development in the city
Where: Fall River Government Center
Time: 5:30 p.m.
Open to the public
Councilor Laliberte-Lebeau is subcommittee chair. She has asked the administration and head of the Community Development Agency to attend the meeting so they can outline Mayor Correia’s “Make It Here” campaign to market the city. The discussion will also revolve around why Community Development funding of $325 thousand dollars, that was earmarked for economic development, has not been spent. That funding was expected to be awarded to the Fall River Office of Economic Development but was not after Mayor Jasiel Correia decided to move in another direction, namely to establish a city-run economic development office.
