The Fall River Disability Commission will host a Disability Awareness Day for children and adults from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, at Kuss Middle School, 52 Globe Mills Avenue, Fall River.

The free event is designed to educate and to provide information about resources available to individuals with disabilities. It will include:

  • Resource tables for adults and children
  • A children’s music activity with Balanced Learning Center
  • A performance and photos with the “Princesses of New Bedford” from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m.
  • Free pizza and beverages

Children can stop at each resource table, learn about disabilities, and receive free treats, according to a news release from the Commission.

Founded in 2005, The Fall River Disability Commission works to promote the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the community’s daily activities, services, and employment opportunities.
